Little Harding Lake
Date: 6/7/2008Fish Caught: About a dozen
Location: Little Harding Lake
Weather Condition: Partly Cloudy and Slight Sprinkles
Little Harding Lake is one of my favorite Rainbow fisheries in the Interior. Spring time is great when a lot of fish are packed in the inlet of the lake to spawn. This trip was not different. We took the canoe out and strapped it to the truck and headed for the lake which is only about 3 miles from the in laws home.
We first made our way out to a beaver home on the opposite side of the lake and I hooked a decent fish on the way out but quickly got away. We got to the hole on the other side and saw few fish rising, but we put in a good effort anyway. We decided to go back and work the inlet and on our way back my father hooked a nice bows and released it. We got to the inlet and caught a bunch of fingerlings but were going for the larger ones we saw cruising by. I had one swirl for the streamer i was using and i set the hook right into its belly. I hate foul hooking fish. Then about 10 minutes later i hooked into one that was between 16-18 inches.
It was a good night out fishing and we got some good fish. A few days later I took the girls out to catch some of the small ones and no one got skunked. There are some nice bows in that lake but can be great for kids to just get to catch something as well.
