San Isabel Lake

Date: 4/26/08
Fish Caught: 1 rainbow
Location: San Isabel Lake
Weather Condition: 30s and windy

The ice just came off the lake during the week. I woke up early and got Emily up too. She was really tired but wanted to go fishing. It was the first official outing of 2008. It was a cold morning and breezy when we left the house at about 7am.

We got to the lake at about 7:20 or so and had to put on a new leader. After bundling up we walked down to the lake. It was very windy and cold. The wind was blowing at about 20mph. I tied on a skunk fly and after a few casts we hooked a small rainbow. After about 20 casts the guides were icing up and had to clear them a lot. We fished for an hour or so and got cold. As you can see we kept the little rainbow and had it for lunch.

It was cold but worth the trip. It was good to get Emily out and get rid of some of the cabin fever thats been building up. Its going to get warmer this week so reports should start coming in again.
