We got a babysitter so this time Jenny (my wife) could go with me. We were really looking forward to this outing as it had been along time since we could get out without the kids. We took off in the late afternoon and started for the mountains. Because I have been there before and told Jenny how beautiful it was there. So I could tell she was anxious to get up there. We also took the motorcycle to use on the 4x4 trail instead of slowly crawling up the trail in the truck.

We got to the trail and started up with the motorcycle and because the bike is pretty gutless we only got about a half mile up and I had to go back for the truck cause it could go no further. Oh well... We ran into a park ranger when we reached the hiking trail and he sure loved to talk. Then we started up the hill on the trail. We took it slow since I have a desk job and am still working on getting in shape. But we had fun and enjoyed the scenery. We got to the lake and setup camp and had a little snack before heading out fishing.

I tried a humphy first and nothing really when after it. The water was clear and calm. I put on a small streamer and soon after I landed on cut about 18 inches. Then moved on top of a rock next to Jenny. So we were about 10 feet above the water. We could see the rocks on the bottom till about 30 feet our it dropped off. I cast just beyond the drop off and let it sink. Then when bringing it in you could see the fish come up from the drop off after the fly. It was fun to watch. I landed 3-4 like this before it was dinner time and started getting dark.

In the morning we just packed up and took off. It was fun fishing but was great to just get out with Jenny without the kids in a beautiful place like that. Definitely going again in 08.
