Well it has been a week or two since my last outing. Nothing exotic, just up to the lake again. But instead of heading up in the morning, I was able to break loose for the late evening. I did not leave until around 10 till 8. I had to hurry to get up there before I couldnt see to fish. Once I got up there, I drove across the dam and there was tons of people there. This was a surprise.

I got out of the truck and suited up and got the fly rod ready to go. I took the float tube as you can see. I carried it over to the lake and looked for a break in the people large enough so I did not disturb anyone. I found the largest gap I found halfway down the dam. I could tell the powerbaiters were not happy on each side as they were casting in my direction before I even got in. Once I got in and out into the lake they settled down. I had on a humphy first and didnt even get a bump. Then tied on the secret streamer and after a few casts landed a nice 14 inch bow.

The rest of the evening , as it got darker, I had a few strikes, but never hooked any of them. Once it got dark, everything stopped feeding. The wind picked up slightly, but the fish stopped rising completely. I stayed for another 45 minutes hoping the big boys would come out and feed in the cool dark night, but no such luck. I think I am going to do some streams for the next few weeks as the lake water seems to be a little to warm to be producing very well.
