San Isabel Lake
Date: 7/12/07Fish Caught: 4 Rainbows
Location: San Isabel Lake
Weather Condition: Windy in the 50s
Another early morning. There was some fog at around 5am this morning that really made it dark. But I welcomed it as I have been wanting to get up to the lake before light. As I headed to the lake it was the same as last time, the wind picked up as I got closer to the lake. But it was a nice drive and even saw a few turkey on the way up, and of course tons of deer, one good sized buck about a 4 point already with beautiful felt covering.
I took the float tube again. I did not plan on fighting the wind again, but it actually turned out well. I worked parallel to the dam and worked along the bank. But this time was different, I never got a bite all along the dam. Then I tried casting out into the lake into the wind. Almost instantly I hooked a little stocker. Then a few minutes later I got a nice 15 incher. I then worked the small inlet on the south end of the lake without even seeing a fish rise.
It was then time to work back. I worked back out into the lake and fished further out and got a few strikes but no a good set. I worked back to where I caught the previous 2 and quickly hooked 2 more and released them. I got back close to the spillway where I launched and caught another.
It was then time to head to work. So I packed up and headed out. One feature I will be adding in the near future is clickable thumbnails to view more detailed images. But like everything else right now it depends on finding the time to do it.
